Could this cause the gun to go off?

I borrowed my dads Savage model 1907 32acp pistol yesterday to take to the range. befor I took it I disembled it and cleaned it (guessing it was never cleaned since it was made) and after reembling it I noticed that if I pull the slide back all the way and let it slam shut the hammer will drop occasionally. will this cause it to fire while c0cking it for the first round? I also took it out shooting very cautiously because I was afraid that the natural cycling of the action would possibly turn it fully auto but it shot semi-auto just fine. should it be taken to a gun smith?
