What are the pros and cons of spray tanning?

I am white white white and can NOT tan.. I am going to Hawaii next month. I found a place that seems really respectable (expensive as well) good reviews.. I hear the tan kind of curdles away and looks silly.. I hear it can last 5 to 10 days, true? can you wash it off? does it fade evenly? Any advice is helpful..
