How to tactfully quit part time job?

I am 14, and have a part time job as a swim coach. I also have an internship with a newspaper and will soon be starting conditioning for volleyball. I want to quit my swim coaching tactfully, and still be able to get good references. My boss is a little abrasive sometimes, so what do I say so that I can quit and still get good references? Thanks!
