Dating an older guy?

I have this crush on a guy from my hometown who came into my work all the time. He's really nice and personable and for some reason I just can't help but like him. The only problem is that he's 36 and I'm 20. Don't criticize me, I can't help who I like! I don't know what to do because I know there's no way we could ever be together like long term, but I'm interested in dating him or just hanging out. And I don't know how he would feel about the situation. I know the easy thing to do would be to ask him, but I know I could never put myself up to that. Please help!
