What are the difference between lacrosse strings?

I have been playing lacrosse for about 4 years now and finally began to pick up the hobby of stringing my own sticks and after picking up a hard mesh kit i realized all the different strings involved, like nylon crosslace and sidewall,so i talked to people who use the same string everywhere on their stick (top string, sidewalls and bottom string) ,whether its traditional or mesh, and people who are very picky about which strings go where. i was wondering if i were to buy a spool (or more than one) which strings are important to both types of stringing and their differences so i can decide whats important
