Can you have computer in a different room than cable with wireless router?

I just moved to a new house with itty bitty bedrooms. I even have a single bed, and just can't figure out how to fit my computer desk, and my large format printer in there, too. But, the cable is in that room. Is there a way to put the computer and printer in the other room, while the cable is in the bedroom? Can I use a wireless router in the bedroom, and have my stuff work in the room next to it? They're right next to each other.
